What are your thoughts and actions when no one is watching you? It is common for people to lean into their weaknesses when alone, as if they were taking off a mask to reveal their true selves, giving in to hidden desires and inclinations.
There are countless examples of secretive behaviours, such as resorting to schemes for financial gain, lying to avoid consequences, cheating on partners, or indulging in habits that provide temporary pleasure but ultimately harm the soul, like drug use, excessive alcohol consumption, or pornography.
Additionally, when alone, many people let negative thoughts and feelings surface from their inner selves. Nowadays, it is increasingly common to see individuals expressing hatred online, hiding behind screens to say negative things they likely wouldn’t say face-to-face.
The main problem is that this behaviour undermines one’s peace. How can a person find peace while engaged in wrongdoing and constantly fearing discovery? Our conscience acts as an inner judge, condemning or absolving us. It warns us of the potential consequences of our actions. Yet, unfortunately, many choose to ignore their conscience, silencing it over time instead of seeking change.
The truth is, no one can hide forever. The Word of God states, “For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known.” (Luke 12:2). Sooner or later, the consequences of our actions will manifest, leading to disappointments, break of trust, and a range of negative feelings that can affect not only ourselves but also those around us.
However, you don’t have to continue living this way. Every Friday, we hold meetings aimed at neutralising all works of evil. During these meetings, you will receive powerful prayers with the laying on of hands, determining that by faith, any negative force imprisoning you and affecting your willpower will be dissipated. This is an opportunity to find the strength to let go of every hidden and negative influence in your life.
