True Peace

The dictionary describes peace as “freedom from disturbance; tranquillity; mental or emotional calm; a state or period in which there is no war or a war has ended.”

One of the major blessings that Jesus gives is the privilege of being at peace. He ministered the true peace. A person who has this type of peace becomes a peacemaker, and passes peace on to others. If God is not a part of your life, it is impossible to have true peace – a bliss, which does not depend on your environment.

You may be in the midst of a war or, surrounded by problems, but you will always have tranquillity. However, there is a fake kind of peace that is temporary, as described in the following verse:

“They have also healed the hurt of My people slightly, saying, ‘Peace, peace!’ when there is no peace” (Jeremiah 6:14).

“True peace is not merely the absence of tension: it is the presence of justice.”—Martin Luther King. When you believe in God’s justice, you will always have peace. In Isaiah 9:6, Jesus is introduced as the Prince of Peace:

“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” That is why He said, “Peace be unto you”, because He always had it to give.

“Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.” (Acts 9:31)

Having true peace generates many other blessings in your life. Seek for the Prince of Peace and you will live a life that is filled with perfect tranquillity. God bless you.
