Everyone is at risk of experiencing losses or disappointments at some stage of their life, so what is the best way to deal with these challenging experiences?
Like when 1000s of civil servant employees were at risk of losing their jobs when the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) announced their plans to close 42 offices earlier this year. This unexpected news caused anxiety within families, as the frightened staff were forced to prepare for this loss.
Another example is the current apprehension after Buckingham Group Contracting filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators which could result in many losing their jobs.
“We emphasise the company is currently not in administration. Our main aim at present is to seek to protect jobs, and to preserve as much of the business as possible,” they expressed.
It goes without saying that experiences such as these are unavoidable and can creep up on us and catch us by surprise. Whether it’s a loss in your career, health or family, knowing how to overcome these tragedies when they happen is crucial, and the solution could be oddly simpler than you think.
The Lord Jesus taught us to protect our heart from disappointments by investing in our relationship with God. That was the main message of the Tour of Faith and Miracles meeting that took place in Leicester last week.
When you place your heart on God, even if you face disappointments or losses, you will not be shaken because you already have the most important thing which is the presence of God.
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21)
More than 80 people attended this powerful meeting, including 25 who attended for the first time. Abigail, an assistant in the church said, “many witnessed the power of God in their lives and learnt about the most important treasure that no one can take away from them – the Holy Spirit”.
The night ended with the moment to seek the Holy Spirit, where all those who attended had the opportunity to renew their strength.
