“By this My Father is glorified, that you bear MUCH fruit; so you will be My disciples.” (John 15.8)
When a person receives the Spirit of God, he or she begins to have inside them the same power that enabled the Lord Jesus to live a holy life in this world, and to perform extraordinary works. The ministry of our Lord only lasted three years, yet He did what He did! Imagine if He had stayed longer in this world!
This is why He said: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and GREATER works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.” (John 14.12)
He speaks of MUCH fruit and GREATER works than what He did. Therefore, we understand that the good and faithful servant has a duty to meet the expectations of his Lord. There can be no excuses! If we have the same Spirit of the Lord Jesus, we have to make a difference in this world. Every place, in which the soles of our feet tread, will be ours, and the name of our Lord will be glorified.
We do not know how much time we have left in this world, so we have to be agile, take advantage of the opportunities that God has given us. No-one can tie up the mouth of an ox while it is threshing. God has sought people, men and women, who want to do greater works in this world for His exclusive glory. There is no time to lose!
It is impossible for a man, who is full of the Holy Spirit, to pass through a place, whether it is big or small, and not to make a difference, leaving a legacy for the next one that comes. Our Lord is thirsty for souls, and His servants have the same thirst that He has.
