The Universal Church Opens Its First Branch in the Czech Republic

Czech Republic
Last month, the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God held the official inauguration of its first church in the Czech Republic. Despite freezing temperatures as low as -7°C, the ceremony brought together people of various nationalities. Attendees came from several cities across the Czech Republic and included Czechs, Brazilians, Italians, Ukrainians, Russians, and many others, marking a significant milestone in the spread of the Christian faith in the country.

We have been officially present in the Czech Republic since April 2024, encountering challenges from the outset due to the country’s reputation as the least religious in Europe. However, we have gradually overcome, with the message of faith reaching more people with each meeting.

Although the native language is Czech, the meetings are held in Russian, with translation into Czech, English and Portuguese. Since the first meetings, in addition to the preaching of the Gospel, the Church has played an important social role, offering assistance and support to those in need.

With a capacity for 80 people, the church has a room for the Children’s Biblical Centre (CBC), ensuring that children can also receive teachings of faith. Pastor Luís Fellhauer and his wife, who arrived in the country in January 2024, started the first meetings and the process of officially establishing the church.

“Establishing The Universal Church in the country required a life of sacrifice and prayer. From the officialisation of the church to the search for a suitable place for the meetings, the challenges were many. And although there is no direct restriction from the government regarding the preaching of the Gospel, some laws have imposed difficulties on the process of establishing the church in the country. Language was also an initial obstacle, but dedication has allowed advances in this area,” said Pastor Luís.

Universal’s goal in the Czech Republic is to expand and form native disciples, bringing the Word of God to the whole nation. With each new open church, more people have the opportunity to experience spiritual transformation and renewal.
