The Tuesday of It Is Written

The Tuesday of It Is Written

A diagnosis of an illness can be crippling, especially when there is no clear solution to the problem. For example, when Job developed a disease on his skin, causing painful boils from head to toe, the Bible reveals the anguish he experienced:

“My spirit is broken, my days are extinguished, the grave is ready for me.” (Job 17:1 NKJV)

That is, the pain that he felt was not only physical, but his illness was affecting him from within, causing dejection and turmoil. This is a natural reaction when faced with a challenge – to lose hope and despair, accepting defeat against your problem.

However, when a person uses their faith with revolt, not only does this uplift their spirit, but it also calls the attention of God, who is moved by our faith. For instance, after receiving the news that he would die, Hezekiah, moved by his indignation, cried out to God and, consequently, received his healing:

“(…) Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears, surely I will heal you (…)” (2 Kings 20:5 NKJV)

His reaction teaches us that although we do not always have control over the problems that arise, we can choose our reaction. Whether we will bow down before the situation or fight until the victory is achieved, through our faith in what is written in the Word of God.

Similar to Job and Hezekiah, if you are battling negative news regarding your health, do not despair. Join us this Tuesday at your local Universal Church to receive a prayer for your health. You are encouraged to bring something that represents your situation, such as a picture or a letter, to be anointed.

We will see you there!
