The Power of saying Amen: How compromise can strengthen your marriage.

Do you know how to love

As children we love unconditionally, but staying that way is not an easy task and therefore many give up. As we age, we learn that love is more complex than it seems, however, our Lord Jesus left us all a model to follow in His Word.

The apostle Paul said in the book of Corinthians:

“Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things; believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” (1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NKJV)

Jesus did not act maliciously when people did not understand Him, nor did He take out His anger on others. Our love on the other hand, is not ideal, as human beings tend to be vengeful, selfish and resentful.

To love as Jesus did, we must constantly look up to Him and have Him as our reference. In our weekly Love Therapy Seminars, you can learn about this intelligent love, with messages based on the Word of God.

Last week, the couples and singles learnt about the power of saying “Amen”. Ultimately, this means placing your relationship above winning an argument and resolving disagreements by compromising with your spouse.
