Poverty is a fast growing and prevalent issue in the UK, which is more common now than you might think. Statistics say that more than 14 million people are living in poverty, including 4.2 million children. That’s a heart-wrenching 1 in every 5 people!
As a response to these gut-wrenching numbers, the Universal Church has increased the intensity of the work of our food banks and soup kitchens across the UK.
By opening more food banks in several locations and holding initiatives to raise donations of non-perishable foods, we have been able to support more people who need and appreciate this great work.
You too can support this good cause!
On Sunday, 22 October at 4pm, you are invited to attend the Tackling Hunger Charity Football Match. The aim of this event is to collect donations of non-perishable items to be distributed in our local food banks.
There is no entry fee to attend this event. To purchase a ticket, simply exchange a minimum of 5kg of no-perishable food items.
You don’t have to come alone, share this initiative with your loved ones! You can already acquire your tickets by visiting your local Universal Church.
