Do you remember those childhood days, if anyone insulted your mum or your family, you’d rush to their defence without hesitation? When you would fiercely stand up for your closest friend? Knowing you would never betray them — you had their back no matter what. Maybe you defended a sibling in a tough moment, or perhaps someone stood up for you, shielding you from bullies, calming a conflict, or simply being there when you needed it most.
Those moments weren’t just about loyalty; they were about love, about standing in the gap when it truly mattered.
For many of us, that instinct to protect those we love comes naturally. However, as we get older and life gets busier, that urge can fade into the background. We get caught up in work, responsibilities, and personal goals. However, the need still remains and now more than ever, we’re being called to fight spiritually for our loved ones.
The Bible says in Ezekiel 22: 30: “So I sought for a man among them who would build a wall and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.”
Today, God is searching for people who are willing to fight, not with fists or words, but in prayer. People who are willing to place their families before God, to intercede for those you love.
We may not see the spiritual world with our physical eyes, but if we could, we’d witness a very real battle — one that seeks to pull our families away from faith, from purpose, and from God.
Perhaps someone prayed for you and you’ve had the privilege of seeing what faith can do. That same power can touch the lives of your family members too.
When we share the message of Jesus, we take on a responsibility that’s goes beyond just speaking about salvation, but to fight for it in the lives of others through prayer and intercession.
If you’ve made it this far, take this as a sign: You are the intercessor.
Join us at 3pm for a powerful Good Friday service ‘My Family at the Foot of the Cross.” On this day invite your family to attend this special Good Friday service with you or if they are not able to come write down the names of your family. Bring them before God to lay their names at the foot of the cross — the place where transformation begins. Just as you’ve had your encounter with God, they can too.
It’s not just about your family finding success or stability in life. It’s about them stepping into the presence of God and finding salvation.
