Fear has spread across the country swiftly, with the breaking news of riots across the UK.
According to BBC news, “disorder erupted in cities across the country last week after the fatal stabbing of three girls in Southport – with unrest fuelled by misinformation online that the suspect was an asylum seeker.”
The police are working tirelessly to keep communities safe, with more than 6,000 officers mobilised to respond to any chaos in the coming days. More than 400 arrests have already been made and these cases are beginning to filter through court.
The disorder has indisputably caused fear and anxiety in communities across the country. Aziz Deen, a lawyer, reported, “I’ve been advised to work from home because my office is right where the protests begin. I feel threatened. I feel fear.”
In alarming times such as these, the Word of God is essential, able to alleviate the soul and bring peace amidst a storm. Apostle Paul expressed in his epistle to the Philippians:
“The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7 NKJV)
The key to a strong and firm spirit, even when facing many troubles, is to depend on the Word of God. Constant communion with Him means that you have access to His wisdom, direction and power – to enable you to combat life’s challenges.
However, you don’t have to fight alone.
