Meaning of Reverse – make (something) the opposite of what it was; revoke or annul (a judgement, sentence, or decree made by a lower court or authority); turn (something) the other way round or up or inside out; a complete change of direction or action.
How many times you wanted to “reverse” some things in life, but you couldn’t? There are many damaged parts of your life, such as, relationships, health, finances, love life, career, business, etc., that you would like to “reverse” but didn’t find a way or even never tried to do it.
The good news that we bring to you is that there are only two things that cannot be reversed in life.
1. The blessings of God
“God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? Behold, I have received a command to bless; He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it.” (Numbers 23.19,20)
The enemies of God’s people wanted the prophet of God to curse his fellows, but after seeking and receiving God’s direction, he then stated the above words. Once God blesses, no one can “reverse” it!
2. The works of God
“Indeed before the day was, I am He; And there is no one who can deliver out of My hand; I work, and who will reverse it?” (Isaiah 43.13)
God was, once again, introducing Himself to all Bible readers, and declared that His wonderful works cannot be “reversed”.
Aside from the blessings and works of God, anything can be REVERSED. So, what do you want to be reversed in your life? Jesus is the Great Reverser!
Many people made history and influenced the lives of millions and billions of other people. Let me speak about one of them, whose name was Christopher Columbus.
According to research, Columbus was responsible for introducing many new things to America: horses, cattle, pigs, goats, and even, smallpox. Columbus took not only some of Europe to America, he also brought some things from America back to Europe. Among these were smoking and syphilis. Whether for the good of mankind or for their detriment, this one man made a great impact on his world.
Over the centuries of mankind’s history, many men and women have significantly impacted the lifestyle of those who followed after them. None, however, has had greater impact than Adam, the first man. In Romans 5.12-21, Paul shows just how great the impact of Adam’s “fall” has been upon humankind. Paul stresses this impact to demonstrate that in spite of the curse, which Adam’s sin brought upon the human race, God has provided a cure in the person and work of Jesus Christ.
To all, this passage promises and offers a new beginning, in Jesus. The words found in those verses are words of life and hope for all humankind.
In other words, what the first Adam led into destruction (death through disobedience), the second Adam – Jesus – came to restore (salvation through His sacrifice on the cross).
That’s why, we believe that in Jesus we can reverse anything!
