a bright smile, opportunity to explain,
On Sunday 4 March, the ROD (Rescue of Dignity) group made a visit to Pentonville Prison with the aim of supporting families going through difficult times. Furthermore, the ROD volunteers happily offered 39 food hampers and copies of the life coaching book, Nothing to Lose 3, to families visiting their loved ones in the prison.
The families’ response was a mix of joy, surprise, and perplexity about why they had been bestowed with such gifts. The volunteers of the ROD group used this as an opportunity to explain the services that they offer, not only to the inmates but also to their families. Before the end of the visit, 20 volunteers happily supported visitors at the Pentonville visitor center and were delighted that most families left with a food hamper and a faith-reviving book in their hands, accompanied by a bright smile on their faces.
