On Saturday, 28th September, Mega Dance UK 2024 returned in full force, bigger and better than ever, at our headquarters—the Rainbow Theatre in Finsbury Park.
The doors opened at 2pm, welcoming members of the Victory Youth Group and their guests from all over the UK to take part in this extraordinary event.
A panel of four carefully selected judges took their seats at the centre of the auditorium, ready to score each performance.
The challenge? To deliver a beautifully choreographed routine inspired by a biblical love story of their choice. After weeks of intense preparation, the event officially kicked off at 3pm with a series of song performances, setting the tone for the much-anticipated dance competition. Dance crews from across the UK brought their A-game and unique flair, eager to impress and leave their mark on the stage. Six crews, six performances—but only one would take the title home. In the end, it was a unanimous decision: Congratulations to Stainless, who were crowned the 2024 Mega Dance champions for their captivating performance that won over both the judges and the audience.
After the competition, attendees heard two inspiring real-life stories from young people whose lives have been transformed through their involvement with the Victory Youth Group (VYG).
The event concluded with a powerful message from Bishop James Marques, responsible for the work of the Universal Church in the UK, urging young people to not see themselves as invisible. He reminded everyone that God’s plans for our lives are far greater than what we can envision, surpassing even our highest expectations.
The event was a tremendous success, offering a fresh start for many in attendance.
Pastor Rees Effa, who oversees the work of the VYG, commented:
“This event was exceptional, seeing the pool of talent in the VYG was incredible. It surpassed expectations for all spectators and everyone is looking forward to Mega Dance 2025. The ambition of the VYG is to help support young people realise their dreams and this event definitely achieved that.”
