As the end of the year approaches, many people tend to reflect on the 12 months that have passed. Excited for the new year, they often make resolutions and create a list of goals they hope to achieve – whether it’s taking better care of their health, getting promoted, finding a new job, meeting a potential partner, or learning a new language.
There’s nothing wrong with this – as the saying goes, “failing to plan means planning to fail.” It is essential to have defined and realistic goals. However, the big problem is that, more often than not, as the months go by, this initial enthusiasm fades, and those plans begin to slip away. The result is a cycle of disappointment that seems to repeat itself year after year. How many plans did you complete this year, and how many did you leave unfulfilled?
But don’t worry; this article isn’t intended to discourage you further. On the contrary, we want to propose an alternative that could be the key to truly achieving the resolutions you’ve been making for years.
“Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” (Revelation 21:5)
That’s right: the Most High promises to make all things new. However, to be able to take possession of this promise, we must surrender our ways to Him. This is the purpose of the New Year’s Eve Night Vigil – to help you start 2025 differently, in the presence of God.
To make the most of this opportunity, we encourage you to, first of all, do a self-reflection of your recent mistakes and successes. Consider why you may not have achieved the goals you set. For the goals you were able to accomplish, consider what contributed to your success so you can maintain those practices and change what didn’t work. Then, write down your plans on a piece of paper and bring it with you on 31 December at 10pm, at the Cathedral of Miracles or your nearest location if you live outside London (for more information, please call our 24-hour Helpline on 020 7686 6000 or send a WhatsApp message to 020 7686 6010).
We will present our plans and resolutions to God, seeking His direction, protection and power – not just for you, but for your entire family, as this year our night vigil will be the “Vigil of the Family”. With His blessing, we will determine that you will have the inner motivation to overcome in 2025 and attain what has been missing in your life. Join us and bring your family to this unique and empowering New Year’s Eve. Try something new and experience positive changes that will lead you to a new and blessed life.
