“Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do so.”(Proverbs 3:27).
Have you ever stopped to reflect on the profound responsibilities entrusted to you? Not merely to do good in a general sense but to carry out the greatest good: sharing the message of salvation and the power of God.
This verse from Proverbs isn’t simply referring to giving money or material help—though those acts are important in their place. It goes deeper, it speaks to the higher calling of every
believer: to speak about the Lord Jesus Christ and to let the world know that He is real, that He saves, and that He transforms lives.
If you can do good, then do it. If you have the ability, use it. This scripture is a reminder that if it is within our power to help someone, we should. And what greater help can we offer than the message of hope, peace, and eternal life through Jesus?
Ask yourself: can you speak about Jesus? Can you share the good news that there is a way out of suffering? That there is a solution to life’s deepest problems? If the answer is yes—and it is—then the response is clear: we must tell everybody.
Who deserves to hear about the power of God? Everyone.
The Gospel is not exclusive. It’s not reserved for the few, but offered to all. Often, we come across people whose faces reveal sadness and inner struggles. The Bible says that the state of the heart is reflected on the face—and if someone appears downcast, their soul may be in even greater turmoil.
That’s your opportunity.
While you may not be able to speak to everyone, you can speak to those whom the Holy Spirit guides you to. Our job is simple: open your mouth. God will do the rest. He’ll give you the words, He’ll touch the heart, and work the miracle.
Let this be your life’s motto: from this day forward, take Proverbs 3:27 as your life’s motto. Don’t hold back the good that is within your power. Be bold. Be faithful. Be ready to share the greatest news the world has ever known. You have the power—use it for God’s glory.
