IntelliMen – Challenge #46

INTELLIMEN LogoMen. Intelligent.

CHALLENGE #46

Don’t start before completing Challenge #45.
If you want to join the IntelliMen Project, start from Challenge #1.

Challenge: Watch the video “Porn on the brain.” (Warning: this video may not be appropriate for the under-14-year-olds, parental guidance is advised. If you are 14 or younger, speak to your parents about this video first, let them decide whether or not you should see it. If you’re a parent, my suggestion is that you speak to your child about the subject of this video before they’re exposed to it in the wrong way… by others, or on the internet.)

Explanation: This is the first generation, in the history of mankind, which has free access to pornography, 24/7. With one click, a touch of a Smartphone, or any other device with internet access, any person, including children, can access innumerable pornographic images and videos of all types, things that our parents and grandparents never saw or dreamed of seeing. More than 13,500 pornographic films are created throughout the world every single year (a shocking statistic), with Brazil being the second largest producer. The porn industry makes over 100 billion dollars a year, lining the pockets of people who take advantage of one of the strongest male instincts: sexual desire.

The result of the exponential growth of pornography and its easy access can already be seen. A recent study found that pornography is just as addictive as alcohol, cocaine or other drugs. Many children and young adults see hours of pornographic videos and images every week, at times with their parent’s consent. An addiction to porn, along with its number one ally, masturbation, dominates the lives of many young adult males (the number of young women with this addiction is growing) and sets them up for a future where sexual satisfaction is doubtful, even in marriage.

Studies and behavioUr specialists have proven that pornography distorts the mind of its users, affects their vision and the amount of time they spend thinking about sex. Married men with a porn addiction tend to chose porn over their wives; they abandon the real, live woman by their sides for virtual images on a computer screen. Many want their wives to do what they’ve seen porn stars doing. Others can’t have sex with their wives unless they first watch porn. Still others prefer masturbation to sex with their wives because the real thing is no longer stimulating.

An IntelliMan has to be informed about this subject, and above all, has to develop self-control in order to avoid this hole. Your challenge is to watch the video “Porn on the brain” — a documentary which recently aired in the UK. Set aside one hour of uninterrupted time this week to watch it. If you’re married, I suggest that you watch it with your wife.

Our hope is that you discover the serious damage that porn inflicts, and that you determine to be alert and never fall into its trap — and if you’re already involved in it,  that you use all your strength to get out of it. We also hope that you develop the “guts” to address the subject openly, speak about it to your friends in an intelligent manner, create more awareness. If you’re a father you’ve got to speak to your child about this.

Notebook: Have your notebook by your side as you watch the video, and write down any points that you feel are important, as a reference to go back to in the future.

Official Partner: Have a man to man conversation with him. If you, or your partner, have any difficulties with porn, speak about what you can do to eliminate it.

Deadline: Begin working on this challenge immediately and complete it before Challenge #47 which you can begin a week from now.

Post: After – and only after – you have completed the challenge, post your comments on the IntelliMenWorld Facebook or Twitter page, (not on your own page) and write the following:

IntelliMen Challenge #46 done: I watched the documentary “Porn on the brain,” and found out how that plague has destroyed men. (Add any other comment in regards to this.)
