CHALLENGE #35
Don’t start before completing Challenge #34.
If you want to join the IntelliMen Project, start from Challenge #1.
Challenge: Learn the truth about time and how to respect it.
Explanation: Let’s expand on what we started in Challenge #33 and explore the subject of time in greater depth. Reflect on what is written below:
Time bank
Imagine a bank that credits your account each morning with $86,400. It carries over no balance from one day to the next. Every evening, whatever part of the balance you failed to use that day is deleted.
What would you do? You would withdraw every cent, of course!
Yet, each of us has such a bank. Its name is TIME. Every morning we are credited with 86,400 seconds. Whatever part of that amount that we fail to invest is written off every night. It carries over no balance. It allows no overdraft. Each day it opens a new account for you. Each night it burns the remains of the day. If you fail to use the day’s deposit, the loss is yours. There’s no going back. There’s no drawing against “tomorrow.” You must live in the present, on today’s deposit. So invest it well and get the most health, happiness and success that you can! The clock is running. Make the most of today.
The value of time
To understand the value of ONE YEAR, ask a student who failed a grade.
To understand the value of ONE MONTH, ask a mother who gave birth to a premature baby.
To understand the value of ONE WEEK, ask the editor of a weekly newspaper.
To understand the value of ONE DAY, ask Jack Bauer.
To understand the value of ONE HOUR, ask two people in love who are waiting to meet up.
To understand the value of ONE MINUTE, ask a person who missed the train.
To understand the value of ONE SECOND, ask a person who just avoided an accident.
To understand the value of ONE MILLISECOND, ask the person who won a silver medal in the Olympics.
Remember that time waits for no one. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift, that’s why it’s called the present!
