Last week, in all our Universal Churches, the ‘9 Sundays of the Beatitudes’ continued and the main message was based on the second Beatitude:
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” (Matthew 5:4 NKJV)
It is important to note that the Lord Jesus wasn’t referring to the feeling of grief experienced after losing a loved one. Rather, He spoke of the sadness and disgust felt towards one’s own mistakes that lead to repentance.
Sincere repentance is essential for a person to experience salvation, which is why this Beatitude is so crucial.
After all, if someone does not recognise their mistake, they will not feel a need to change. The Bible explains this further in the book of 2 Corinthians:
“Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing. For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.” (II Corinthians 7:9-10)
Unfortunately, in today’s society, what was once considered wrong has been normalised. In fact, with time, society has grown numb to the voice of God and is no longer able to recognise their mistakes.
In other words, they have become spiritually numb.
Which one have you been? Most importantly, if you recognise that you have been the latter, it is not too late to change.
Join us this Sunday at your local Universal Church, where you will receive another lesson directly from the Word of God to bless you from within.
This purpose will continue this Sunday, where you will learn about the third beatitude.
Don’t miss this, bring your paper Bible, a bottle of water and the pictures of your family to participate in this purpose. We will see you there!
