On Sunday, 20th April, we celebrated Resurrection Sunday with a powerful meeting called Life Shift. This special event focused on the greatest transformation a person can experience — the baptism with the Holy Spirit. It’s in this moment that God’s Spirit begins to dwell within, bringing a lasting change from the inside out.
True transformation starts within. When the inside is renewed, outward change follows naturally. On the other hand, trying to fix the outside without addressing the inside often leads to temporary results or no change at all. For those already filled with the Holy Spirit, the Life Shift event was a powerful reminder: if there’s an area still in need of change, don’t give up and fight with faith until the promise is fulfilled.
During the event, everyone was encouraged to begin a Chain of Prayer, consisting of five powerful steps. The idea is simple: choose a specific goal you’re trusting God for, and commit to attending both Friday and Sunday services consistently for five weeks. This continued act of faith creates a strong foundation for your breakthrough.
The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ reshaped the very calendar we use today. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of a new era. Over the next five Sundays, we’ll journey through five key moments that followed Jesus’ resurrection. Each one holds vital lessons that can guide you through your own Life Shift. If you’ve already received your Chain of Prayer card, bring it with you. If not, you can pick one up at your nearest Universal Church.
Reaching our goals, whether spiritual or otherwise requires endurance. As it says in Hebrews 10:36: “You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.”
Just like running a marathon you need endurance, the same principle applies to this journey of faith. In today’s world, where instant results are often expected, the value of endurance can be overlooked but it’s a divine principle that cannot be ignored.
And let’s be real: perseverance isn’t always easy. Life gets tough. Doubts get loud. Everything around us may be shouting “give up.” But it’s in those very moments we must seek God’s strength to keep going.
If you’re feeling tired or tempted to give up — hang in there. You may be closer to your answer than you think. God sees you. He honours perseverance.
