“Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand, measured heaven with a span, and calculated the dust of the earth in a measure, weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance?” (Isaiah 40:12)
These powerful Bible verse remind us of God’s infinite greatness. He holds the oceans in the palm of His hand and balances the mountains on scales. When we are faced with difficult circumstances, especially financial hardship, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But when we truly understand the magnitude of God’s power, we begin to see that nothing is impossible for Him.
This Monday, 14th April, the second day of Holy Week we will be washing your hands with water from the sea. This act will represent the removal of curses or negative influences that may have been hindering progress in your life. By doing this with faith, believing that God is greater than any struggle, you will declare that everything your hands touch will be blessed. God’s word promises:
“I will cut off sorceries from your hand, and you shall have no soothsayers.” (Micah 5:12)
If you’re facing debt, buried under credit card bills, loans, or unpaid expenses, the interest alone can feel like a curse that keeps growing no matter how hard you try to escape it. Losing a job or dealing with unstable work can lead to significant financial stress, making it hard to afford even the basics like food, rent, and utilities. Maybe you poured everything you had into starting a business, only to watch it collapse due to economic downturns, lack of support, or unforeseen circumstances. Perhaps you’re stuck in low-paying jobs or environments where your skills aren’t valued, making it difficult to move forward or build a better future or maybe financial struggles have spanned generations in your family—you grew up without learning how to manage money, so the cycle continues.
These financial problems can seem like insurmountable mountains. But when we turn to God and act in faith like washing our hands with sea water as a symbol of purification and renewal, we align ourselves with divine possibilities. The same God who created the sea can transform your situation.
If God can hold the ocean in His hand, He can certainly lift you out of any financial problem.
