Throughout June in all our Universal Churches we are having the ‘Month of Honour’ – for all those who want to learn how to honour God in practice. The Word of God says:
“A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am the Father, where is my honor? And if I am a Master, where is My reverence? Says the Lord of hosts (…)” (Malachi 1:6 NKJV)
Honouring God requires personal sacrifice, as it involves letting go of your ego, plans and everything else that represents you. It’s something that doesn’t come naturally to the human being, who by nature is selfish, prideful and self-sufficient.
Those who wish to honour God must develop a personal relationship with Him, allowing Him to transform their mind and consequently, their choices.
Moreover, God is Spirit; therefore, you should not try to move Him with emotions or words. What truly pleases God is our faith: “But without faith it is impossible to please Him,” (Hebrews 11:6 NKJV)
However, not just any kind of faith.
It’s important to note that what calls God’s attention is not knowledge of the Word of God nor the size of a person’s faith, but the quality of it. That is, God is looking for a faith that is pure and based on His Word:
“(…) for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20 NKJV)
This is the faith that not only produces results but gives us access to the Kingdom of Heaven.
That’s why on Wednesdays we have commenced a weekly Bible Study ‘The Faith that Honours God’. If you want to learn more about this subject, bring your Bible and participate in this series of faith with us.
We look forward to seeing you at your local Universal Church!
