Mistakes are inevitable, however, to guarantee a successful and happy year, there are some errors you should avoid at all costs. Keep reading to find out what they are.
1. Don’t lose focus.
Some people set goals for themselves but are very easily distracted, evidently wasting time. As a result, they become frustrated when they look back and realise they were unable to achieve their dreams.
2. Choose your environment wisely.
The Bible warns us that we will not always be welcomed or well treated by everyone. In this case, the Lord Jesus taught us not to associate ourselves with them. Learn to value yourself, and do not subject yourself to unhealthy relationships.
“And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.” (Matthew 10:14 NKJV)
3. Let go of the past.
Some people are difficult to deal with, whilst challenging behaviour is painful to forgive. However, holding on to their mistakes will only affect you and impede you from moving forward. Set yourself free, by forgiving those who hurt you (Romans 12:19-21 NKJV)
4. Don’t spend more than you can afford.
Many earn a comfortable wage but struggle financially due to accumulated debt. This is often a result of unnecessary spending, buying what was desired but not a necessity.
5. Prioritise God.
Prioritise your relationship with God if you wish to make the most of this year and make the right decision in all areas of your life. The biggest mistake that human beings make is trying to conquer on their own, without the direction and strength of God.
At our Sunday Morning services of Empowerment, you will receive a message of faith and prayers to renew your mind, strengthen your relationship with God and kick start your week in the right way.
