A well-structured family is the foundation of a developed society with successful individuals. Unfortunately, many families have been adversely affected by evil. Recently, there has been an alarming increase in tragedies around the world involving parents, children and other family members.
In Seattle, USA, a 15-year-old boy was arrested on charges of shooting his parents and three siblings with a handgun owned by his father. He attempted to blame one of his brothers, claiming that the brother shot the family members and then took his own life. However, his 11-year-old sister who survived the tragic incident by playing dead, accused him of being the actual perpetrator of the killings.
In July, an 11-year-old girl named Poppie Roller was left orphaned after losing her parents and two younger sisters in a car crash in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. The family had gone out for a leisure activity on a Sunday, but Poppie didn’t want to go, so she was left with a family friend, surviving what local police described as a “truly horrendous collision.”
Another recent sad case occurred in Gravataí, Brazil, where a policeman killed his 38-year-old son. The victim was experiencing a mental breakdown and, after a clash with his father, a fatal shot resulted in his death. Situations like these are more common than one might think, leading to the disintegration of entire families.
When evil touches one family member, the others are also affected and, consequently, the whole family tends to fall apart. The list of factors that can negatively affect a family is extensive, including addictions, illnesses, controversial ideologies and values, and distortion of the divine concept of family. However, through faith, it’s possible to protect our loved ones from negative influences.
This Friday at 7.30pm (also at 7am, 10am and 3pm), we will participate in the special purpose “I Will Not Lose My Family to Evil.” Through strong prayers and Biblical teachings, we will go against all negativity and determine the deliverance of our family members, asking God to protect and save them. We are also taking part in the purpose of “The 7 Fridays of I Will Lie Down In Peace.” Join us at your local Universal Church.
