The Lord Jesus told a parable that spoke of the lost coin:
“Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it? And when she has found it, she calls her friends and neighbors together, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I lost!’” (Luke 15:8-9)
The lamp in this parable represents the Word of God which is the only tool that is capable of enlightening a person out of darkness. This Sunday we are inviting all those who feel lost and need enlightenment through the Word of God.
