Naaman’s uniform

A Life of Power, Acts of the Apostles, Books of Kings, Christ, God, God the Father, Gospel of Matthew, healing of the soul, Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit (Christianity), humble yourself before God, Jesus, Pentecost, presence of God, receive the Spirit of God, the man of God,

messages-inside

“Now Naaman, commander of the army of the king of Syria, was a great and honourable man in the eyes of his master because, by him, the Lord had given victory to Syria. He was also a mighty man of valour but, a leper.” (2 Kings 5:1)

One reason why many people do not receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit is because they haven’t stripped away their pride. A person cannot receive the Spirit of God when he is full of himself, thinks he knows everything, or knows more than the Pastor. We are mere sinners, unworthy to even pronounce the name of the Most High. No one should come into the presence of God holding on to their PhD, knowledge, earthly wisdom or worldly experiences.

Naaman was a renowned commander and war hero. However, though his uniform was full of medals, it covered a leprous body.

Be careful, my friends, so that you don’t become spiritually like this too, dressed in a “Christian uniform”, knowing the Word, but covered with the leprosy of pride, arrogance, overconfidence, conceit and selfishness.

“But Naaman became furious, and went away and said, “Indeed, I said to myself, ‘He will surely come out to me, and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leprosy.’” (2 Kings 5:11)

There are also people who want to tell the Pastor what to do.

“Are not the Abanah and the Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?” (2 Kings 5:12)

There are people who, because of pride in their hearts, do not want to give up what they are and what they have learnt of the world to obey that, which is being determined by the Spirit, through the man of God, who gave his life to see them transformed. For this reason, they will never receive the healing of the soul.

Naaman only received healing when he submitted to the Divine Direction of the man of God. The revelation of the Spirit of faith can only be manifested to those who are humble of Spirit.

“… I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes.” (Matthew 11:25)

Remove this uniform of pride; let go of everything, everything you’re holding on to; humble yourself before God; ask Him to strip away your pride; go down to the waters of the Spirit and receive the healing of your soul. This is what God expects of you.

May God bless you!

Indeed! When we put pride to rule our lives,we shall miss every thing that God promised to do.To Avoid,we should always humble ourselves until we achieve them.

Amen. this is what destroys most servants of God, pride. resulting in disobeying and stubborn servant. A true is he who truly humbles himself before God all the time. I understand that bishop I should be very cautious not to have Namaan's uniform but humble my self always.
