“…the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.” (1 Corinthians 11:23-26).
Imagine yourself entering a room, getting face to face with the Lord Jesus Himself and being invited to share a table with Him? How wonderful would that be? But what if we say that this is possible? This is exactly what the Lord’s Supper is about: it represents a covenant with God and enables us to have the same opportunity that the disciples had in the past. We can join our Saviour in spirit for His Supper, eat from His bread of Life and drink from His cup of Salvation.
“I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.” (John 6:51).
Although we all know that we are mortals and that there will be a time when our days in this world will come to an end, when the Lord Jesus says that if we eat of His bread we will live forever, He is talking about our soul, our salvation – and there is nothing more important than these things because they are eternal. So, this Wednesday, 25 August, is a great opportunity for you to take part in this special ceremony.
Maybe you already attend the church but you have not been taking part in the Lord’s Supper because you know that you are living in sin, so you feel like you are not worthy. This Wednesday is also for you because it’s an opportunity for you to reconcile with God.
On the day we will also share a message from Bishop Macedo with a special blessing, so don’t miss this moment to be renewed and empowered.
