Unbreaking the break-up

There is nothing like being on the same page and at the same pace as someone. That person you click with so profoundly that you are unafraid to share your most intimate thoughts and feelings with them. This union is way deeper than what is on the outside – so much so that, regardless of their appearance or other people’s opinions, you tie the knot and commit to spending the rest of your life with them… at least that’s how it’s supposed to go.

But what happens when this common union is broken?

Anger, sadness, regret, loneliness, uncertainty, a sense of loss… it’s that something you can’t quite put your finger on or know how to describe into words. It’s like a great big gaping hole.

Many people are feeling this way. Not necessarily because of a rift between them and their partner or now an ex. It’s more so because of the neglect that has led to the breakdown in the most important relationship a person could have: the one between them and God.

In our ‘everything now’ lifestyle, it’s easy to get caught up in everything that has been designed to occupy our time like watching TV, checking social media, taking care of family etc, that we forget that we are souls and our souls need care and this care is the result of a communion—common union: the sharing or exchanging of intimate thoughts and feelings, especially on a mental or spiritual level—with God.

If you find yourself feeling empty and at a loss; that you’ve messed up too many times and can’t come back from it or see that you have drifted away from the faith you once had in God, especially during this pandemic and don’t know how to unbreak this break-up, know that it’s not too late to start over.

On Sunday 14th March, we will have the Lord Supper at all of our UCKG Help Centre’s. This is the opportunity to restore your communion with God. Those who have had an experience with God understand the importance of this Holy Ceremony established by the Lord Jesus (see 1 Corinthians 11:24-26). And those who haven’t, will get the chance to understand and be part of it this Sunday.

Meeting: The Lord Supper
Day and Time: Sunday 14th March at 10am (also at 7.30am)
Location: Your local UCKG branch

If you are feeling low and cannot wait until Sunday, contact us and speak to a spiritual advisor now: Call or WhatsApp 020 7686 6000

Please note: If you are in the high-risk group or are self-isolating, you can still participate in the service online at libertyradio.co.uk.
