First Epistle of John, God, God the Father, Gospel of Matthew, Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit (Christianity), Jesus, keep seeking and you’ll receive, Lord Jesus Himself, Psalms, receiving the Holy Spirit, the Water of Life, touched by God., Water of Life,
“Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters…” (Isaiah 55:1)
The Holy Spirit spoke by the mouth of the prophet to invite everyone who is thirsty to come to the waters. Then, He used the Lord Jesus Himself, on the last day of the feast to say:
“If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.” (John 7:37)
We clearly see the Almighty’s strong concern about quenching the thirst of the thirsty ones.
The devil comes against them with doubts and all kinds of accusations for he knows that when someone drinks from the Water of Life, they become a spring of Life and are equipped with the full armour of God to overcome every evil in this world.
So, every time the thirsty ones start to seek the Holy Spirit, the devil will try to annoy them by bringing worries, fears, doubts, etc. But, when we have the Holy Spirit, we can discern what comes from God and what comes from hell. So, what you must do to overcome this is: persevere, keep seeking and you’ll receive.
Thirst and hunger are needs of the body, but Jesus uses these day-to-day situations to guide us on how we should seek the Holy Spirit. The thirst He is talking about is the one of the soul. David said: “O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You” (Psalm 63:1).
The thirst that God wants to quench is the one of the soul, which seeks to find pleasure in the things of this world e.g. alcohol, drugs, partying, prostitution, etc., but after a while the thirst returns and the soul is empty again. What the soul really thirsts for is the Presence of God. Many are not interested. That’s because they haven’t yet been touched by God. In the day Jesus made an appeal to those who were thirsty, not everyone came to Him. However, the thirsty ones are touched by God and that’s why they keep digging till they find the Water.
The devil can bring a million reasons to discourage you from receiving the Holy Spirit, but the thirst you have for Him is a sign from God to you. Even if you didn’t drink yet.
The proud are not thirsty. The humble, even though they are still sinners, recognise they have a need for God and repentance, so the Holy Spirit comes on them because it is He who puts the thirst within them, as Jesus says, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent (proud) and have revealed them to babes (humble)” (Matthew 1:25).

The fast of Daniel which just finished last week Sunday , 11th October, 2015. I made a decision to seek God's presence. Throughout the whole fast I kept telling myself "I need to be swimming in the Holy Spirit, be submerged in his presence"... It was a fast like I never done before. I remembered reading testimonies regarding the ohh what a day... I thought to myself, my God I literally give you everything, the shyness, the panicking nature, the negative thoughts in my mind, the bad eyes I had to those around me. I said "I give them all to you, I detox. I want to trade, all of me for all of you, I want my life to change, when I climb the altar on Sunday, I determine that I will have your spirit. I will leave the altar (santuary) knowing that I had my encounter with you. I prepared everything the night before, I was preparing the The Day. I made my prayer and as soon as I stepped on the altar, in the santuary, I received Holy Spirit, It was like I made my mom so proud of me, I knew it... That's what it was like. God was so proud, I knew I was washed and I was assured that his Spirit was in as well as surrounding me ☺️. Yes, ohh what a morning, day it was ...

Very strong this message bishop Randal I was meditating on what you wrote and it's so eye-opening. All that the devil wants is for us not to drink from the Spring which is Jesus, he wants us to be thirsty for his "water" which is sin, addictions, immorality and all these sort of things. Satan knows that if we come to The Lord Jesus and drink from the water He offers freely we will never thirst again and as Jesus said "But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life". Lets all be thirsty for His water and become fountains.

Perseverance is key when seeking so many time I feel to just give up, but I saw that I really need to push myself because it's the devil who wants me to give up
