Peckham VYG joined forces with 4 local police officers for a local weapons sweep behind Peckham’s library.
Members of the VYG volunteered their Saturday afternoon to perform a knife sweep, checking bushes, undergrowth, green spaces and anywhere else where knives, guns or other weapons that have been disposed of or hidden, could later on be retrieved and used in possible future crimes.
Nineteen-year-old Tinashe Masamba, a member of Peckham’s Victory Youth Group said, “It was my first time volunteering. It was truly an amazing experience.”
