Palm Sunday is a powerful day in the Christian calendar. It marks The Triumphant Entry of the Lord Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, just days before His crucifixion and resurrection. He was welcomed by a great multitude who honoured Him as their King.
“…a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out:
“Hosanna!
‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’”
The King of Israel!” (John 12:12-13)
What Does This Mean for You Today?
This Sunday, you have the opportunity to do just as the crowds did on that historic day—not by standing at the gates of Jerusalem, but by opening the gates of your heart.
When you invite the Lord Jesus in, He brings transformation. Just as He entered Jerusalem, He can enter your life to bring peace, joy, restoration and salvation. The suffering you may be enduring can come to an end. Confusion can give way to clarity. Despair can be replaced with hope. You become part of His family and walk under His guidance.
Which Area of Your Life Would You Like God to Enter?
Is it your family, your finances, overall well-being, your spiritual life, your love life, or perhaps another area entirely?
Take a moment to reflect. Write it down on a piece of paper. This simple act of faith shows your willingness to open the door to the Lord.
Then, bring it with you to your local Universal Church this Sunday. Come with a palm branch, which will be anointed in the service. This will be your symbol of victory, a declaration that God will enter triumphantly in your life.
We will also be taking part in the Lord’s Supper, which will be a perfect time to commit yourself to Him, renew your faith, and determine a new beginning.
