A Home vs a Hotel: The Power of Quality Time

Family arguing

One of the most significant problems plaguing British homes today is the lack of quality time and connection within family life. Although people may live under the same roof, they often feel disconnected, living as virtual strangers with one another.

Many homes have lost the true essence of what a home should be – a safe haven for the family, a place of peace, joy and rest.

A home is characterised by a strong sense of belonging; however, many find that their home has become a place where family members simply eat and sleep (at separate times) interacting more like adversaries on a battlefield than loved ones seeking refuge and comfort.

That is, their home has become more like hotels, than a nurturing environment.

In order to change this situation, constant investment is necessary to rebuild your family.

Spending more quality time together, even for simple activities such as, cooking, eating, watching a movie or playing a board game, is a good place to start. Engaging in meaningful conversations and showing an interest in each other’s lives and wellbeing is also key for the environment at home to be pleasant.

No family is perfect, but it all starts from a healthy and happy marriage. When a marriage is destroyed, the entire family is affected.
