Holy Spirit, the greatest reward,
Doing good to those who do good to us is natural, some demonstrate goodness with the intention of gaining a reward, however, the Bible says, โAnd if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you?โ (Luke 6:32)
The reward for this kind of goodness will only come as a complement, โthank youโ, โwell doneโ or a gift from those who benefited from that action, but it will not be rewarded by God.
However, there is a kind of โgoodnessโ that calls Godโs attention and that He accepts by giving us the greatest reward that exists.
โBut love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High.โ (Luke 6:35)
Yes! When we do good to those who donโt deserve or canโt offer anything in return, then God rewards us by making us His children. Is there a greater reward than this?
If you want to learn how to have this kind of goodness that turns us into His children. Then be sure not to miss the Bible study, The Fruit of the Holy Spirit this coming Wednesday at your nearest Universal Church.
