Without faith it is impossible to please the Most High (Hebrews 11:6) as it is precisely faith that is responsible for guiding us towards obedience to the Scriptures, granting us a clear and peaceful conscience, far from sin.
On the contrary, those who have a neutralised faith due to the devil’s accusations, acquire a weakened spirit.
Knowing this, the apostle Paul, guided by the Holy Spirit, advises his disciple, Timothy, regarding the importance of maintaining this faith:
“Having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck,” (1 Timothy 1:19 NKJV)
If faith is the only instrument to achieve Salvation, those who lose it, lose everything.
Paul’s warning regarding a good conscience continues to resonate with all those who one day decided to abandon worldly practices and embrace the faith in the Lord Jesus.
This is because, even today there are many who allowed themselves to be distracted by bad examples and neglected the preservation of their purity.
To maintain a perfect conscience, that is, pure, God demands from us a humble spirit, capable of recognising our real condition before Him and submitting ourselves in obedience to His Word.
It is necessary to remove the mask and present ourselves before the One who is faithful and just to forgive us and grant us His Spirit.
However, those who insist on feeding pride in their hearts and maintaining a good appearance before men, in addition to being unable to enjoy the Presence of the Most High, put their own Salvation at risk.
In our weekly Bible Study services, you are given an opportunity to analyse yourself and invest in strengthening your faith.
In these services, you will receive a message to feed your soul and spirit, as well as the opportunity to cleanse yourself from within through total surrender to God in prayer.
This week, we are commencing a new study, ‘The Fruit of the Holy Spirit’ in which you will learn about the character of a person who has received the nature of God and you will have the opportunity to participate in the Lord’s Supper.
Join us every week at your local Universal Church and bring your Bible so you can make the most of this service. We will see you there!
