In the UK, house prices and the cost of borrowing has increased again for the first time in the last 12 months. To many, this means that purchasing their dream home is more of a distant wish than a reality, especially considering the overall rise in living expenses.
Food and energy prices have also risen dramatically since 2022, in response to the conflict in Ukraine and the recovery from the pandemic in particular. As a result, many have been struggling to make ends meet leading to feelings of worthlessness and frustration.
Perhaps this has also been you and you’re losing the willpower to fight for your goals. Is there a simple solution to fix this problem or should you throw away your hope of flourishing in your finances?
Firstly, it’s important to note that if you are having a hard time affording your essentials, you are not alone. According to research conducted by the Office for National Statistics, ‘4 in 10 adults (41%) who pay energy bills said it was very or somewhat difficult to afford them’.
The survey also revealed that a greater number of adults (44%) in the UK are cutting down their fuel usage, such as gas or electricity, due to the rising cost of living. There are increasingly more people struggling to stay afloat.

This doesn’t have to be your reality. There are many promises within the Word of God for those who make a commitment with Him and you can claim them too!
In the book of Malachi, God said He would open the windows of Heaven and pour out His blessing upon the life of anyone who decides to place Him first (Malachi 3:10).
Placing God first is more than just separating your Firstfruits and presenting it to Him, but it’s about allowing Him to guide all the decisions in your life.
