How do I know if I have received the Holy Spirit?

Self Reflection

The human being is God’s main creation among everything He created on Earth. That’s because we were created according to His image and likenesses (Genesis 1:26). However, it is the only creation that chose to rebel against Him, deviating from His originally plan.

Consequently, those who have not been regenerated by His Spirit continue to possess a flawed and corrupted DNA, as the apostle Paul explains:

“Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”(Galatians 5:19-21)

However, those who receive the Spirit of the Living God have within them the Divine DNA, that is, they possess a high moral and spiritual conduct, and manifest His fruit in their attitudes, behaviour, thoughts and even their speech. Those who possess the Holy Spirit lead lives that mirror the way in which Jesus Christ Himself lived during His time on Earth.

“How do I know if I have received the Holy Spirit?”

Many of those who today seek the baptism with the Holy Spirit have already asked themselves this question. While it may seem like a complicated question, the answer can be quite straightforward: by observing the fruits manifested in your behaviour.

“(..)Therefore by their fruits you will know them.” (Matthew 7:20)

The Holy Spirit produces the character of God within you. However, if upon this self-analysis you conclude that you have not yet received Him, do not lose heart!

The Holy Spirit gives us the opportunity to seek His presence every single day, and in the Universal Church we have several meetings designed to help you achieve this goal.

Such as our weekly Bible Study services which take place on Wednesdays at 7:30 pm (also at 7am, 10am and 3pm) and every Sunday at 6pm at your local Universal Church.

These meetings are designed to guide you towards an intimate relationship with God and teach you how to receive His permanent presence.

Why not make these meetings part of your weekly schedule? Simply bring your Bible, as well as your notebook and pen, so you can follow along during the moment of the message.

Everyone is welcome, no matter their religious background, walk of life, gender or age. Come to receive guidance from the Word of God, which does not discriminate but is personal to all.
