Last week’s special service, ‘The Day of the downcast” which took place in the Rainbow Theatre in Finsbury Park gave hope to hundreds of attendees who were present. The meeting was held by Bishop Macedo, the founder of the Universal Church and received many who were attending the church for the first time.
It was a morning of powerful and uplifting prayers, deliverance and a Word of faith. The meeting began with a prayer before the altar for all those who are sick or in pain, with the laying on of hands from the Pastors. This was followed by a prayer to bless the family.
The main message taught that there is only one way that proves that God is alive and still able to perform in the way He did in the past. That is when you receive the Holy Spirit.
When someone receives the Spirit of God, they become His witness and He uses them to reveal Himself to the world.
How does one receive the Holy Spirit?
Jesus said, “If anyone thirsts” that they would be filled (Matthew 5:6)
However, Bishop Macedo explained that the reason why many do not see the fulfilment of this promise in their life is because, though they thirst, their craving is for temporary things and not for a relationship with God.
All those who truly desire to live a life of intimacy with God, must surrender their heart to Him, that is the centre of your emotions and your will. Everyone was invited to do exactly that through prayer.
