180 Day Bible Reading Plan - Old Testament

When cooking, different ingredients are needed to create the final product and each one is important. Take cake, for example. You may include everything else, but without flour your ‘cake’ will turn out very different to what you had initially planned.

The same is true for when you read the Bible. Every part of it is relevant. It is all well and good to know a part of it and live by it, but you benefit much more from it when you know it in its entirety, because you have a more rounded understanding of the Word of God. And in doing so, it will bless your life in ways you can’t even imagine.

After all, it is God Himself who said, “This Book of the Law must not depart from your mouth. Meditate on it day and night so that you may act carefully according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way successful, and you will be wise.” (Joshua 1:8)

Nowadays, unfortunately few people follow this direction. In fact, it is reported that the average person spends 50 minutes per day on social media – almost the same amount of time spent eating and drinking. However, only 19 minutes per day are spent reading.

As Christians, we are all too aware that what we see, hear and think about feeds our soul. So, what have you been focusing your eyes on lately? What have you been feeding on? Let’s invest in our spiritual lives and feed our relationship with God by reading the Bible.

Daniel is a great example of someone who invested time on what was most important. He separated three times in a day to pray and invest in his communion with God. Consequently, he not only had some of the greatest revelations from God, but also had an unshakeable faith.

We will do likewise and all those who want to invest in their spirit are welcome to join in.

Similarly, we will separate time to meditate on the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. It is going to be all about less ‘face’ and more ‘books’; not just any book, but the Word of God.

Each day, you will meditate on a chapter and verses, as described in the Bible Reading Plan. You will also meditate on one Psalm and a Proverb a day, and tick the boxes as you go along, to keep track.

It is impossible that this daily meditation on the Bible – the Word that brings life – will not change you. Consistency is important. Look forward to hearing from God every day, and He will reveal His secrets to you and show you things that you have never noticed before. Get ready to be enlightened.
