The Challenge of the Cross

Christ, Christian, Crucifixion of Jesus, God, Good Friday, Jesus, Jesus died for you, Rainbow Theatre,

Have you ever been so mad about a situation or problem that you are going through? You have gone through the phases wondering, crying, asking ‘why?’, shutting down and finally reaching a point of anger. You are pretty cross!

So, what do you do with this anger? It has to go somewhere, somewhere profitable. Why not take it to the cross – the place where Jesus took upon Himself all of your suffering, sickness, problems and pain? He did this so that you don’t have to go through it.

But forces of negativity work to oppose the happy life that Jesus died for you to have. Evil takes pleasure in your sadness and wants to see you down and crushed.

Will you accept this?

We doubt it.

This is why you have the greatest opportunity to cross over from an undesirable point of your life to a positive place, on Good Friday, 14 April, and nail your problems to the cross.

“He blotted out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us and contrary to us, and He took it out of the way, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed authorities and powers, He made a show of them openly, triumphing over them by the cross.” (Colossians 2:14-15)

Relationship disappointments, addictions, financial instability, family breakdowns, and lack of self-confidence, just to name a few, are some of the issues that you just do not need in your life. Just as Jesus once publicly shamed and triumphed over the principalities and powers in His life (which can be seen in the verse above), you will do the same!

On Good Friday, you are invited to take part in the Challenge of the Cross event. During this event, you will publicly shame the negativity that brings misery, suffering and problems into your life. You have every reason to be cross with these situations because they are responsible for the feuds that you have with your family members, your partner and the resentment you have for yourself, and also for the financial difficulties, incurable sicknesses and addictions.

Bishop Formigoni, who is known for conducting these challenges, will present this event along with Bishop Alvaro and all the pastors to show the real power of the cross to those who believe.

When you become revolted with your problems, it will stir up a fighting spirit within you to make you seek a change. So, on Good Friday – a day of repentance – not only will you learn to forgive yourself, but you will find the determination to erase these sufferings from your life and nail them to the cross as a sign of victory.

How will the event benefit you?

On that particular day, you will take a powerful stance. You will draw a line between you and any negativity, determining that, from that day on, you will put an end to anything that has held you back.

When Jesus died on the cross, it gave the whole of mankind new hope – salvation. If this had not taken place, then mankind would have been left helpless. Similarly, when you nail your problems to the cross, you will have the hope of overcoming your debts, financial difficulties, illnesses, relationship problems, etc. – if you believe. You should have one goal in mind when you take part in the Challenge of the Cross, and that is to triumph.
