A cat was found with 2lbs of matted fur on her body. She was only discovered when her owner moved into a nursing home. Staff from the Animal Rescue League Shelter were able to cut and shave off all of the extra fur. Speaking about the matter, a worker from the rescue shelter said: “She suffered from severe matting (dreadlocks really!), the likes of which had been neglected for years. Our medical team shaved off the pounds of intertwined fur from her body and, needless to say, this cat is feeling so much better now!”
The cat will now have a new owner, and staff from the rescue group urged people to “not only check on the elderly in your community, but also check on their animals to prevent instances like this from happening in the future”.
We take good care of our outward appearance; we dress well and ensure that we look presentable. However, many of us neglect our internal appearance, be it grudges, anger or insecurities; we very often forget that these too must be taken care of.
