a true relationship, presence of the Lord,
A Christian’s joy is constant, regardless of the disappointments that this world may throw at him. Most of the time the joy of non-Christians is superficial, temporary and ultimately suffocated by the sadness of this world.
The great joy we feel for being in the presence of the Lord is what differentiates us from those who live in this world without His presence. Our hapipiness is the result of our communion with Him.
God Himself experiences this feeling, as it is written:
‘Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength’ (Nehemiah 8:10)
Joy is characterised by spiritual well-being; it’s the result of a true relationship with the Holy Spirit.
