21-day Fast, 21-day Fast of Daniel, a good person, Baptism with the Holy Spirit, First Epistle to the Corinthians, God, Gospel of Matthew, Holy Spirit, Jesus, John the Baptist, Lord, Spirit of the Lord, The Upper Room,
IN THE UPPER ROOM:
“Ah! What a day!”
Just like us, Daniel was a man with his own worries, problems, desires and beliefs. But this man made a choice regarding a problem that seemed impossible to him—he separated himself, dedicating three weeks (21 days) to prayer and fasting. This resulted in a visit from the Spirit of the Lord with a revelation for this chosen man of God.
His attitude not only ended up saving his life, but as a result, Daniel’s communion with God was also strengthened in such a way that he stood out among the rest:
“Then this Daniel distinguished himself… because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm” (Daniel 6:3).
Daniel wasn’t favoured because he had better qualities or because he was a good person; what distinguished him from others were the choices he made. He was strong enough to detach himself from things that weren’t good for him, because he always prioritised his relationship with God above anything else!
“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.” (Daniel 1:8)
Millions of people around the world have also made this decision by participating in the 21-day Fast of Daniel. These people overcame traumas, complexes, bad habits, addictions and weaknesses, and because many felt cold in their spiritual life, their communion with God was revived.
On 28 December, the 21-day Fast in the Upper Room will begin. But what happened in the Upper Room?
“And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2:4)
The Upper Room was the place where the Holy Spirit came upon those who had separated and sanctified themselves to receive Him. This happened for the first time throughout the history of mankind.
Make an intelligent decision during the course of these 21 days; separate yourself from any unnecessary secular information that will interfere with your relationship with God. End 2015 in the right way and enter 2016 totally free of the chains that have held back your spiritual life!
