pressão da sociedade, um sentimento mentiroso, uma ótima situação,
Rodrigo Alves, 33, is a flight attendant and TV presenter in London, but is internationally known as ‘the human Ken’. He has already undergone more than 50 surgeries to design his body and face and has already exposed in the media that he does not intend to stop with the interventions. “Naturally I’m getting old, but I don’t accept this process, I don’t accept getting old, that’s why I do plastic surgery. It is a necessity, I work with TV and I even suffer pressure from society , ”he said.
In the search for the “perfect body”, he has already spent more than R$ 1.6 million on surgeries, which also brought complications. He’s already had cysts removed, the silicone placed in his arms leaked (which left him so swollen he couldn’t feed himself) and he contracted a bacteria that literally ate the flesh from his nose. Because of the latter, he cannot breathe properly and will have to shell out £22,000 (over R$95,000) to have another surgery in Iran.
To the Daily Mail tabloid , he informed that he will take the opportunity to place a new implant in his chin and will change the resin on his teeth for porcelain veneers. In total, he will invest more than £35,000 in surgery and aesthetics. “I didn’t want to have another nose job, but I have no choice. I wish I looked better, but now I can’t breathe. It’s hard to deal with, it’s going to be very painful and risky,” he said.
What is the perfect body?
Rodrigo has already said that he never intended to look like the famous doll, but due to his artificial appearance he began to be called the “human Ken”. Despite the luxury and glamour, her obsession with the perfect body has dark roots. “I was born when my parents were 15 years old. We’ve always had a great financial situation, but I’ve never known what affection is,” he told a news site.
Still in his teens, he went to live in London, where he went through more suffering. “I was the first student in the class, I was beaten every day by the boys in the class and even more when I got home, because I had been beaten again”, revealed the young man, adding that he also suffered bullying for his appearance and that his father was ashamed of him .
Most likely, all these problems have made him feel insecure about his appearance, which he wants to change at any cost.
Therefore, not even aesthetic procedures and expensive clothes can stop him. “Obsession is never healthy, it makes anyone look foolish, weak, immature and undesirable”, comments Cristiane Cardoso, presenter of the program “Escola do Amor”.
Insecurity
If Rodrigo Alves’ intention is to become a beauty reference, his inconsequential attitudes have been a real shot in the foot, as this pursuit can make him lose his well-being and peace of mind. Not all of these attempts have made him feel complete and he will never be satisfied until he changes his view of himself.
“The root behind these feelings is insecurity. It’s a cursed feeling that torments and makes the most beautiful people ugly”, says presenter Renato Cardoso, who teaches how to overcome the problem. “The beginning of every cure is the recognition of the disease. Then understand that it is a lying feeling : personal insecurity often originates in a poor way of thinking.
Faith in God and in yourself
Have you ever stopped to know what God thinks about you? If not, have a look:
“For I know the thoughts that I think about you, says the Lord; thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
Jeremiah 29:11
“See yourself through the eyes of God. He sees you as a precious person, worthy of the life of His own Son. Why would you see yourself as inferior?”, completes Renato.
If you’ve been investing in your outside as a way of trying to fill the void inside you, stop right now and understand that what makes a difference in a person first originates from within.
