the Promised Land,
Do you find yourself up against a wall? The definition of this is being in a crucial or critical position, one in which defeat or failure seems imminent.
In the past, there was a great wall in the way of the people of Israel who wanted to enter the Promised Land. This obstacle prevented the people from entering the city of Jericho and was considered insurmountable; but not in the eyes of God.
Joshua and all the Hebrew people, after crossing the, Jordan River, received God’s command to march once around the walled city for 6 days. On the seventh round the priests had to blow the trumpets, upon hearing the sound of the trumpets the people had to shout aloud.
“So the people shouted when the priests blew the trumpets. And it happened when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat. Then the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city…” (Joshua 6:20).
When the people shouted, the wall collapsed and Israel were victorious. In fact, God had given the city of Jericho to the Hebrew people before they even started marching around the wall. It wasn’t the shouts that brought it down, but their obedience to God’s command.
What are the walls that surround you? Debts, illnesses, betrayals, negative habits? If you believe that God desires the best for you and you want to see His word fulfilled then this is an opportunity to live out your faith and see results!
